I recall China has been granted till 2060 because they were a developing country in the negotiation at UN which is ar its heart an anti-Colonialism political organisation with 190 members most of whom are impoverished relative to the Western deveopef countries.
Cleanly China should not now be considered un- developed, but the politics doesn't suit the General Assembly to correct that. They spend most of their time reminding us of how much they suffered under Colonial era, which the Security Council reminds them of.
Well done to the Chinese Communists for what you have negotiated. Pity about the minorities in China.
