Just saw Elizabeth Gaines' comments on an MF article about FFI that recently came out. She makes it clear that FFI's strategic goal is to decarbonise the industry and not to chase a profit.
Ironically this is the type of attitude that delivers huge profits in the long term. If you have ever dealt with the top US venture capital firms then you'll know that they only invest in companies with huge disruptive potential and visionary founders, the logic being that if you nail those two, profits and valuations will inevitably follow.
Several have pointed out that if FFI was spun out and listed on the NASDAQ it would probably be valued in the same ball park as FMG itself! Pity the short-sighted ASX doesn't see this.
