You are quite correct in saying that: "science is the pursuit of truth." The operative being 'pursuit', meaning that it is continually updating by proving previous scientific beliefs to be wrong. It was only in the early 19th century that bleeding a patient by opening an artery was no longer accepted as a means of curing illness. As recently as the 1970's science was promoting the notion that that aerosol gases were causing a hole in the ozone layer that threatened an ice age by allowing the Earth's heat to escape. The Portuguese socialist Antonio Guterres as secretary-general of the United Nations recently claimed that the latest scientific reports indicated that 'global warming' had ended and we were now in a life threatening state of 'global boiling.' People who believe that CO2 as a barely measurable trace gas that accounts for 0.042% of our atmosphere is a danger to civilisation are desperately seeking to justify their existence by claiming the self-nobility of saving the planet. Each of us is entitled to our own beliefs, but I am of the opinion that in the 'pursuit of truth' science will eventually discard our current climate change notions as foolish nonsense,
