    "Natural gas basically requires much of this work, special piping, special welds, special holding and refuelling cells and they still make use of it.
    Any high pressure gas tank or cell has a life expectancy due to contraction and expansion forces causing fatigue, nothing new here."

    @TimeIsMoney,

    There is an absolute world of difference between hydrogen-induced metal embrittlement (in which the actual metal lattice itself, and hence the ferritic bonds, are annihilated) and tensile force-induced metal fatigue (in which the ferritic bonds are merely weakened, but they still continue to exist and act).

    For starters, their evolutionary time scales are separated by orders of magnitude (hydrogen embrittlement takes place inordinately faster than metal fatigue).

    To conflate these two starkly different molecular dynamics reflects a very poor understanding of hydrogen's metallurgical action.
