Boy, you sure bought into China's head fake.

The reason China got involved in the renewable energy business is the same reason China gets involved in making anything required by the West: white goods, televisions, clothing, furniture, toys, medical equipment, electric vehicles etc. etc. etc., namely, to make a buck out of it.

Why would China manufacture everything it can but stop at wind turbines and photelectric panels? There is nothing overly worthy of remark because China makes most of the world's renewable energy hardware.

I mean, its not as if China is weaning itself off fossil fuels in the process. In 2024 China rolled out almost 100 GW of coal fired power plants, which was a 10-year high. (https://www.carbonbrief.org/chinas-...al-power-plants-reached-10-year-high-in-2024/)

For context, Australia's coal power station fleet makes up around 23GW of installed capacity, so China in a single year installed more than 4 Australia's worth of coal fired power capacity.
In just a single year, remember.

So China "emphasising clean, low-carbon energy"?

    Yeah, nargh.
Only in the minds of those wearing the most ideological blinkers.
