Thanks very much, jb for this information. Possibly a case of the classic "Straw that broke the camel's back" There are far more additional challenges for the adoption of widespread hydrogen production and usage demand.....electricity costs, storage, transportation etc, in addition to be overcome.
With technological advancements hydrogen production and usage may become a reality (in our lifetime?), particularly if the combined efforts of Sparc Technologies, Fortescue, University of Adelaide can perfect photocatalytic hydrogen production. Definitely not holding my breath waiting!
H2O costs up 95% (albeit from a low starting price) may be significant in the decision making. Maybe that's why Holmanaset, Norway remains a live proposition....abundant cheap hydro generated electrons and presumably more cheaper water than The Land Down Under.
