Running a car with a lithium battery was never inefficient, cost effectiveness may have been a bit doubtful until recently but an EV has always been able to beat an ICE vehicle in the efficiency stakes. Now this green hydrogen is another matter, its awful round trip efficiency puts it right at the back of the pack for powering a vehicle.
It is more attractive for steel making and other industrial processes if fossil fuels are taken out of the equation and I hope that Twiggy is focussing his efforts on them because he will be barking up the wrong tree if he thinks HFCVs will have any chance of taking on BEVs in the efficiency stakes.
