probably less now more people have solar.
Sure EVs are great, but charging all those EVs overnight will put a lot of strain on the grid batteries, or people will need 3-4 powerwalls at $19k each. Going off grid now , as he is dreaming, is not feasible for most people. A $20 grand solar system, $80k of battery backup, and two electric cars at +$65k each... Just out of reach for your average Australian.
hydrogen is an obvious solution for so many other sectors, he's an idiot to dismiss it.
other battery technologies will come along , especially fixed, but for trucks, cars etc it's not looking good as sodium ion weighs 3(?) Times more than lithium ion, reducing their already pathetic range.
