On the 23rd March 2022, MMA Offshore Limited sold its “MMA Leveque” to Fortescue Future Industries for US$7.75M.

That vessel is now called Fortescue Green Pioneer and that carrier has now been converted to a four-stroke engine to run on ammonia, in combination with diesel, at its land-based testing facility in Perth, Western Australia.
Where am I going with this ?
What are the potential possibilities here?
1. Commercialisation and scale up of ammonia as a marine fuel for international shipping.
2. Commercialisation of Fortescue's in house technology for heavy industry.
3. Converting all of their shipping fleet to run on ammonia powered engines for their own in-house operations.
