On the 13 May 2022, FFI announced a plan to investigate repurposing coal infrastructure for green hydrogen production in North America. The news release also highlighted that the company also applied for a US Department of Energy (DOE) Hydrogen Hub Program grant in collaboration with Pacific Northwest stakeholders.
