Russia, China Agree to Expedite Power of Siberia 2 Pipeline Agreement
As expected, it looks like the power Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline iis likely to proceed.

Since the rout will pass close by Ulaanbaatar this should enable the Mongolian Electricity Authority to start thinking about a gas fired base load power station.
It would also allow Oyu Tolgoi to consider building a say 300MW power station based on the PS2 as a reliable gas supply.
As discussed in the parent post the Gurvantes tenement could connect to PS2 rather than the Chinese WE pipeline to the South and provide Mongolia with a second gas supplier.
Gurvantes should be competitive in this role because of lower operating & haulage costs by using the PS2 to backhaul to Ulaanbaatar.
