Power prices going up. In Queensland they have gone up over 100% and more in places.
It is just unmitigated gouging by the power companies and a complete lack of political will to do anything about any of the miners whether is Gas, Oil, IO, Coal we have been sold to foreign interests and this has been allowed to happen by the politicians over decades.
There is no way out and these current crop of politicians imo have no intention of doing what they should do.
What they should do is declare part of all energy that is mined as being Australias strategic reserves and another part for national consumption. No need to store any of it we should be allowed to use what we like when we need it.
The very least that should happen is a fair competition and pricing as other industries have these regulations.
We should not be paying a higher price that what these gouging energy companies sell our energy for over seas.
How is this possible that these politicians just allow this to happen?
Declare a national emergency and take some of these mines back.
