Most lithium demand forecasts that I’ve seen have grid connected storage as a significant slice of the pie. If ATC can steal that portion of the market it’ll be significant. Remember that a battery is not a power source, it’s only a power storage solution. So it’s well and good to say EV’s have less emissions etc but if your topping them up with power from hydrocarbons what’s the point? A cheap, safe, long lasting grid connected storage is definitely needed moving forward with the green movement. Probably dosent even have to be grid connected. I’m lucky enough to have a 200sqm shed. I could put a solar array on it, then dedicate a few square meters for the batteries as storage and be happy to know that’s my fuel costs for the next 15 years. It’s like having a jug of water in the fridge to fill up your cup.
I only hold a very small portion ATC but after reading about this i’m happy to continue holding (would have been cleaned up in my monthly purge of underperformers)
