Powerlan acquires majority shareholding in
UK-based Omnix Software Ltd

Powerlan today announced it has acquired a majority shareholding in Omnix Software Ltd, (“Omnix Software”)
a privately-held UK-based provider of next generation software solutions that help telecommunications
operators plan, launch, and manage wireless networks.
Founded in 1998, Omnix Software (www.omnixsoftware.com), headquartered in Bristol, UK, is renowned for
its expertise in assisting operators to deliver complex network projects and manage network assets. It is
focused on supporting the mobile telecommunications industry and has developed a global customer base
which includes major mobile groups such as Vodafone, Orange, O2/Telefonica, Millicom, Celtel-Zain,
Orascom and Mobilkom.
Omnix Software will shortly go live at Vodafone Ireland with its next generation product following significant
investment in its new technology platform which has created the leading offering in its class. The Omnix
software platform is an OSS resource and workflow management tool specifically designed to provide today's
2-3G wireless operators with a comprehensive solution to manage all aspects of planning, building, and
operating a wireless network. The Omnix Software value proposition focuses on creating demonstrable
operational efficiency savings within the engineering and infrastructure function and drives large potential
reductions in the capital requirement for infrastructure rollout.

Under the acquisition, which is effective immediately, Powerlan will subscribe for new shares in Omnix
Software for £714 thousand representing a 51% interest and provide convertible short-term working capital
funding of £1 million, of which £250 thousand is being provided at the time of subscription.
Powerlan has appointed its UK-based European General Manager, William Tickner, as Omnix Software’s
Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. As part of the transaction Omnix Software’s 22 employees will
remain with the company and its current owner and founder, Martin Coates, will remain as Chairman.
