re: Powerlan Yes Greenpastures I was a counsellor Yes Greenpastures I can confirm I worked as a prison officer back in the eighties---I spent some time in the CIP at Long Bay---some time in the MRC and another secondment in the Special Care Unit--I was selected from a group of people to take part in a theurupeutic community in which--people conversed whith each other civilly>>>I learn't during that secondment basic counselling skills>>>got on well with both the prisoners and my fellow officers---in fact had a great time in the Special Care Unit---very relaxed informal atmosphere--as opposed to the traditional prison.
(On the other side of the coin--once a person works in the SCU--your then labelled a crim lover--so you can't win whatever you do)
