IfandWhen, appreciate your insights regarding the aftermath of cap raisings etc. I still have that lingering thought that it is illogical in the sense that if a SP is allowed to be traded unfettered, the underwriter seller stands to make a larger margin than what they have accepted now. Haven't they in effect settled for less? These types of sell downs or capping has the effect of dampening otherwise positive growing sentiment on a stock and keeps at bay potential new investors into the stock.
So again, by allowing the SP to be trade unfettered (and then sell the stock in a sustained way (the way the Future fund dealt with Telstra is an example) it would be a win win for all s'holders.
