REANNZ a NZ Government owned science entity has been given 15m to buy capacity on a sub sea cable to link to Oz to carry its ultra fast internet network.

The cable cannot be the existing Southern Cross cable - so needs to be a new one providing redundancy. PWK's NZ partner on PPC-2, Kordia, is also Govt owned..

Sounds lihe PWK's PPC-2 should be in the box seat for REANNZ's cash and so should have a very good chance of getting the minimum upfront commitments required to get built.
