Hi everyone,
does anyone know how I do this manually on CommSec? I rang them and they didn't have a clue. This is what I received from NZX Market services.
Cheers,
Hi Fiona,
PPH underwent a 4 for 1 share split. As the value of the company has not changed as a result of this, the price of the shares is reduced by a factor of 4.
For example, if you held 5,000 shares at a price $1.00 per share, your portfolio is worth 5,000 * $1.00 = $5,000.
Post split, you would now hold (5,000 * 4) = 20,000 shares at a price of ($1.00 / 4) = $0.25, your portfolio is worth 20,000 * $0.25 = $5,000.
If your query is referring to My NZX, this is an entirely manual system and you will need to update your portfolio as above to reflect the share split corporate action. If your query is referring to the value of your holding as showing on a third part website, please contact them directly as they will need to update this for you.
Ngā mihi nui | Kind regards,
Daniel Smith
