PPL-1 and results with my dog, page-148

My vet was fully booked on Friday so I didn't get to speak to her, but she surprised me with a phone call last night. She went over the aspirate results with me again, which are unfortunately pretty vague. It just says it is an inflamed neoplasm that contains macrophages, neutrophils, proteins, epithelial cells, chrondrocytes, etc. She is fairly certain that the lump behind her ear is the primary cancer and the masses in the lungs would be secondary. So the primary lump could be an epithelial or soft tissue carcinoma, or possibly something like a chondrosarcoma from the cartilage near her ear.

She reiterated that it's not possible to know for sure without a biopsy, which is understandable. But her cough became markedly worse after the aspiration, which my vet said could be due to inflammatory cells and chemicals that are released when the mass is punctured. So she may have another deterioration after a biopsy. Her file has been sent over to the vet running the trials, so hopefully I will be able to speak to them next week.
