During a year of scientific clinical trials conducted at the Royal Adelaide Hospital with human patients, PPL-1 (aka MPL, aka monepantel) demonstrated anti-cancer activity by the suppression of key cancer markers p70s6k and p-3e-bp1. PPL-1 also showed a relatively low level of toxicity, an important advantage compared to many existing cancer treatments. PharmAust has entered into a contract with GenScript for a pre-clinical validation process to refine and thereby accelerate the phase 2 clinical trials of PPL-1.
