    Parts per million (ppm) is another unit of measurement of concentration.

    Would you use kilograms if you were recording the weight of an object weighing approximately 0.001 kg. Or would you rather use grams for convenience i.e. 1 g.

    1 part per million is 1/1,000,000 Or 0.0001%.
    There are 1,000,000 grams in a tonne, so 1/1,000,000 = 1g/t or 0.0001%.

    The unit of measurement is irrelevant to its economic significance. A gold BLEG sample in ppb can be prospective when it occurs in the right context.
