"....... How easy would it be for an individual to enter the place an create trouble to put a stain on the premises."

Assume you are running a club in Kings Cross with well behaved customers. Assume that you are approached by the Heavenly Saints motorcycle gang asking for protection money or else they will cause trouble and ensure you lose your liquor licence.

You refuse to pay the bikies for "protection" and almost immediately incidents start happening. Innocent patrons are king hit and always in full view of the cameras, never in a blind spot.

The police take notice of the increasing violence at your club and give you a number of warnings.

Assume a couple of "bent" cops hint that they will ignore the violent incidents and give you tip offs if you put cash in plain paper bags and call them "sandwiches". You refuse to pay, so the police tap your phone and take action to have your liquor licence cancelled.

As the violent incidents did in fact occur in your club, and all were caught on camera, it would be virtually impossible to defend your liquor licence. It might have been cheaper to pay the bikies & bent cops for protection. Game, set & match! You lose!

This scenario sounds like a script from "Underbelly" but if it actually happened in Kings Cross, it could easily happen in King St.

Something is very much "on the nose" regarding the police case against PPN. A good barrister should be able to rip the police case apart on appeal.

Why was the PPN phone tapped? Very strange!
