Well ... that's what my iPPS administering Doc said (he lurks on this forum so will see this) - he said L5-S1, but close enough ... he sent me for an MRI which came back normal. He then referred me to a neurologist for nerve conduction studies of my peroneal nerve.

The neurologist said, if I remember correctly 'If you have to have foot drop, this is the one to have. I think It will probably clear up on its own .. make an appointment for 3 month's time, and we'll run the tests again'

I go back to see him on Tuesday.

I am happy to report that I am walking as 'normally' as someone with a fused left ankle and the aforementioned buggered right knee ever could, and I have regained dorsiflexion (movement up and down) in my right ankle, which is useful on the yoga mat..
