It doesn't sound like you have done much research at all if you think high flow rates reduce extraction efficiency. Ion exchange has a very fast reaction time with brine and inline mixing allows for utilization of that reaction time, and the high flow rates. Even if the ion exchange couldn't keep up with a high flow rate you would just increase the amount of in-line mixers.
