    Maglincer I was reading your release figures assumed for carbon dioxide released into the air from trees and was alittle unsure if this related to fires or harvesting.
    While it is only possible to give broad figures I thought that this may be of help.
    Assuming that trees are 50 years old we can assume that they have locked up on average 1241 tonnes of carbon per hectare.
    Using Kyoto figures if these trees are removed by what ever means then 80% of the carbon held is deemed to be released ie around 993 tonnes of carbon per hectare.
    May have a larger effect on atmospheric content that was earlier assumed.
