Dont despair or give up on the cancer biotech space!

PRR may have disappointed many but risk capital will always find a home (in the case of biotechs - they are still the flavour of the year and risk capital is alive and well looking for "biotech homes with the promise of lives to be saved and fortunes to be made!!").

Some of the "new player" stocks have a lot of market hype built into their prices - with market capitalisations running well ahead of scientific substance (e.g., NEU and ECQ) - time will tell if the "retail suckers" get burnt in the process seemingly endless capital raises(but this is ulimtately the nature of the "risk capital beast").

Ohers in the space seem to have market capitisations that have run from nowhere, however have reached significant milestones (e.g., AHZ) - which in the passing of time might prove to be "company makers".

Whilst other stocks appear to have gone "completely under the radar" (e.g., PAB), yet have made significant inroads in terms of their research and regulatory programs, but continue to have perplexing market capitalisations (perhaps because they have not been "savvy enough" with their promotional activities etc - who knows?).

Risk capital, hope, painstaking research efforts, capital raising, dilutions and the "seemingly endless waiting game" - will always be the nature of this biotech passion that many of us share.

For those of us who enjoy investing in this space, there will always be the allure of those elusive prizes that are only ever revealed with the hindsight of time:the CSL's, ACRUX', RESMED's or (MESOBLAST's???? - perhaps???).

One thing for sure, investing in the biotech space is a rollercoaster ride - full of highs and lows, with those winners that "finally make it" having the potential to save lives - which for me will beat investing in the start-up mining space ANYDAY!!
