JG has backed down on pre commitment. Wilkie has agreed to delay the start of the program until 2016. That gives this government the rest of their term without having to legislate on Pre commitment.
Apparently the only country in the world that has tried it is Norway and it was a complete disaster.
As far as $1 limit bets go they haven't done a great deal of research in that regard either. 93% of problem gamblers bet under $1.
