we have also seen exraordinarily sharp trading before... hours before gold topped a few months ago we saw a dump of millions of shares, and low and behold, we are up today.. i'll take it as a good omen that gold could have bottomed. Of course a price sensitive announcement today would debunk that thought.
I get the feeling that the China real estate fall out will get worse and eventually force massive money printing... not sure if that has the capacity to push gold higher directly, but it will be part of the staircase race to the bottom of currencies devaluing
