Hopefully the high grade near surface will make it easy and worthwhile to simply dig and truck a few loads to 3 mile just to spike the production a bit.Produce a few good production figures to give them a headache.

Even better, it leads to a humungous underground lode that gets identified as the source lode for the whole region, ultimately becoming the worlds largest, richest open cut mine in history...
