I don't like the wording of the announcment "the reason for the trading halt is to prevent trading taking place in a speculative or uninformed market ahead of the announcement".
To me that means "we know there is bad news, we better tell the market now as people are buying up on these shares and we don't want to get sued for not informing the market".
