COMMODITEL PRE PAID PICKS UP MAJOR DISTRIBUTION CHANNEL
Multi-layered telecommunications company Commoditel Ltd (ASX:CMO) announced today that Australia's leading mobile phone distribution company, Brightpoint Australia, would provide access to Commoditel's "Just" pre-paid sim cards to its 2000 plus retail stores around Australia.
The "Just" product will be made available to the retailers by the beginning of August.
Commoditel also announced today that at the same time as the Just sims are distributed through Brightpoint, Commoditel will launch its unique A.39 cents per minute flat "Just" rate to all national and more than 50 international destinations.
CommodiTel Executive Director Mr David Sweet said that the agreement with Brightpoint was the successful culmination of the company's "bricks and mortar" strategy to strengthen its customer base and increase revenue, announced earlier this year.
"Securing a Memorandum of Understanding with Australia's premier mobile distribution company, Brightpoint Australia, is a fantastic outcome. They are one of the largest distributors of mobile phones and mobile related products in Australia and are regarded as industry leaders," Mr Sweet said.
"The MOU with Brightpoint is set to catapult Commoditel into the mainstream mobile market and make the "Just" brand available to most Australian prepaid mobile card purchasers."
Mr Sweet said that the majority of pre-paid mobile cards were still sold through the traditional mobile retailers, such as those belonging to the Brightpoint distribution channels, not major supermarkets.
"Our 39 cent flat rate is a unique coupling of local and international calls at the same rate and we're not aware of any other offer like this in Australia at the moment."
Mr Sweet said that international destinations available through the Commoditel flat rate offer would include the biggest markets in the world including the UK, USA, Japan, Germany and France.
"Together, the Brightpoint and Just flat rate initiatives will build on Commoditel's solid growth and profitability."
