You've entirely missed my point on why TA isn't good for long term holding. The 'noise', as you put it, is generally what makes the Share Price plummet and soar.
To try and justify your point by stipulating that TA makes decision making far less complicated is true, but why TA ultimately fails. It doesn't consider some of the most important variables as previously stated.
The investor that understood the market, rather than solely relying on TA during the GFC wouldn't have been invested in the stocks that got trashed in the first place... Besides, if you held onto your stocks throughout the GFC + 5 years, they would have recovered anyway... So your point is moot.
Your arguments seem to be directly related to your subjective investing mentality which I can safely assume is short term holds...
