Prechter originally had a gold call below $200 for the bottom, as did all other Elliott followers including myself. I was convinced of the error of this only when someone posted a chart of gold in real dollars rather than nominal dollars on HC a couple of years ago - when it became obvious that the reaon for the original call was wrong. This is the problem with basing current day calls on things that happened in the 1970s.
We had quite a debate at the time and agreed that gold had in fact bottomed.
The Elliott wave guys (Prechter's heirs) also subsequently revised their call (must have been about a year ago) and said that the bottom was in, (http://www.elliottwave.com/) but Prechter still sticks stubbornly to the original call.
