    I suspect your proposal would be quite keenly adopted by many holders, especially those who view this as a long term investment. I for one would be quite keen to see dividends paid in bullion.

    Goldbear77 posted a comment (#50648821) earlier in the week on another thread about a gold mining company Homestake Mining whose share price rose from $9 to over $5000 from 1891 to 1987. It was also one of the few gold stocks in the great depression years to increase significantly in value whilst most others declined.

    A quick google and I found an article that explained in part some of the reasons for it's success story

    Some of the key findings:
    • The stock was tightly held
    • The company paid dividends (occasionally exceeding actual earnings) and regularly paid extra dividends
    • The company continually sought to improve operational efficiencies

    A tightly held shareholder register with similar values may be able to influence your proposal. At the current share price, perhaps accumulation is still worth considering ...
