1 oz in every solar panel is overstating things, current latest for 2023 solar panels appears to be that for every GW of solar panels there are approx 400000 ozs of silver. If you simplistically assign 500 watts to a standard solar panel and a Gigawatt is 1000 megawatts then there would be approximately 2000 solar panels to a megawatt which has approx 400 ozs of silver which would equate to approx 6.22 grams of silver or 1/5 of an oz per 500 watt solar panel. A few years ago there was a lot more silver in each solar panel but nowadays the silver in each panel is much lower but the growth has been exponential in numbers of solar panels and in 2023 probably 400GW of solar panels so a lot more silver overall being consumed and just a matter of time before severe shortages start to occur due to solar panel demand.
