I too hold PNV and am dismayed by the utter hammering of short sellers... but hey, its a fact of life on our market. I recall debates back in the 90s about making SS illegal or at least regulating to reduce the impact on LTHs... of course nothing came of it.
Theres nothing to be done but to hang in until the SS Co.s go elsewhere. Right now PET isn't copping it too badly (comparative to PNV for eg.)

Shorters "borrow" from a Co. which co-ordinates sellers. the SH is "sold" in large volumes through the day and buy back at the low price to make their profit. They then give back the shares to the co-ordinating Co and the Co takes its cut as well as regaining its shares.

check out PNV over the last 2 wks to see a classic example. On Friday they held back and allowed the price to rise again to give a better price to sell from today.

Many Co.s offer short selling, such IG and CMC... many more besides.

I too whinge and worry with shorting but its a fact of life which has no recourse other than the wait it all out.

Patience friend. PET is an excellent Co IMO and has strong growth and good margins. Also doing the environment good service. DYOR
