A stock that has been ramped can use the opportunity to raise additional capital. The companies that are developing new technologies or looking for a "needle in a haytack" can continue with the research or search. A very small number will be successful and Australia will have a new industry. People will be employed in the research / search phase and subsequently in the production phase. Sure, many shareholders will lose money from the unsuccessful companies, but those that back the winner will be handsomely rewarded.

Whereas, predatory shorting drives the share price down to restrict the companies ability to raise capital to undertake its research / searching. In many cases it prevents entrepreneurs from undertaking the research / search. In other cases, it enables foreigners to acquire Australian assets at liquidation prices.

I'd much prefer predatory ramping as I too could make quicker $s. as long as I don't get caught in the bull trap.
