The intended tailings dam has been proven by independent experts in 2017 to withstand any earthquake ever recorded in Greenlands history.

The additional items requested by the GoG simply include more detailed modelling of scenarios for embankment failure and more detailed review of seismic conditions to validate long term stability of such tailings structures.

There is no work needing to be "redone".
There is no additional sampling required.
All sampling has been independently sampled and analyised and many more samples are present via determining the ore body.
There is not "cut corners" on the tailings dam.

In June, the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM), the United Nations EnvironmentProgramme (UNEP) and the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) co‐convened a global tailings review to establish global best practices on tailings storage facilities. It is anticipated that the review will be completed by the end of 2019. So its not even released yet and in draft and the company is ensuring it will meet these new expectations as well of which doesnt appear anything major to do as the format is quite similar.
