"Has there ever been more shares short on any stock?"
Dunno - but I would dearly love to see how shorting works without HFT back up. Just a thought, but IMO insto shorting and insto HFT are inextricably linked. What possible use are constant low digit HFTs if not, shall we say, to 'influence' pricing?
