for everyone person that complains about shorts there are many others who accept it as a market mechanism and work out how to take advantage of it.
there is nothing wrong with shorting stocks as there are many other instruments like Options, Warrants, Future contracts etc...
each has their part to play in a free market, it all part of the stock market mixed.
Learn to deal with them and stop wasting time complaining about this stuff, no one going to do anything, not the regulators, not the government, that the capitalist market model way, if you cant handle the heat don't get into the kitchen, plenty of other ways to invest money that doesn't involve shorting like properties, term deposit etc.. etc...
