Very good points. You can add the following :

CGX (Central Asia Gold now changed to CGA Mining) - had spent years and plenty of money to complete the BFS on Taldy Bulak ( multi million ounce high grade gold deposit) and drill up resources on 3 other sites ( at least 2 of these 3 looked to be as promising as Taldy Bulak) in Kyrgyzstan. Just as they completed the BFS, Taldy Bulak was taken away from them by the Kyrgyz authorities and divvied up b/w themselves and their mates at neighbouring Kazakhzstan. This all happened at the same time as the expropriation of Oxus PLC's Jerooy mine just as they nearly completed completion of their USD $50m plant and mill, even though they were encouraged by the Kyrgyz President during construction.

However, the political risk in the Ukraine may be totally different.
