Yeah - as much as I would like to see it - I just don't think you're gonna get your comex default.
If the gold bug story is correct - then the powers that be must keep gold down to prevent their whole scheme unravelling. If people are allowed to use something else as a store of value besides the USD - then the game is up for the Americans.
Such an 'attack' on the price gold upward (as opposed to an american attack downward) - it would be game over for the americans and I can't see how it wouldn't result in a pretty serious war. I really don't think Russia and China want a war with America. They want it to implode slowly, and surely... chip away at it piece by piece... at least, that would be the smart play - I feel.
Oh - and I think i've also decided that Jim Willie is a nut. Maybe some of the stuff he says is true. I do enjoy his rants about JP morgan. But coming from an academic context - I've reallly come to appreciate the need for references. And he doesn't provide any sources for his claims - or even bothers to point to where I can check these facts for myself. This goes double for his current claim about the new currency that the arabs and the russians are planning.
