To the investor it is the average price that matters and not the number of shares held.
A bloke that bought 100,000 at $1 a little over a year ago and the bloke who bought 300,000 at $0.33 last week both have $100K invested - both have the same money on the line however clearly the bloke who bought last week though is in a better position to profit.
