I think westpac will defer the dividend. Banks still looking a bit expensive given their provisions were very conservative to say the least if things turn south, which i think they will, they may have to raise or keep deferring divs over the next year to year and a half> And whats the banks growth prospects in a low interest rate environment with stupidly priced houses and our first recession knocking on the door in 30 years. That sounds like no growth to me so no divs no growth doesnt sound like a great investment to me.
