agree about the wealthy, and the battlers..........and location is still important..............think you can buy outer melb new homes for about 300,000, .........I note a NSW dept of lands study found average house prices in good regional areas of nsw at 300.000 and they are holding a 'country week' at rosehill racecourse 13-12 aug, to lure city folks to the country..............for a tree change,,,,,,,,,,,,dump the 600,000 plus mortgage etc
I do recall being offered a property in toorak in about 1994 for 180,000, it had changed hands in 1987 for 360,000.......
exodus of people from the stockmarket in 2000 contributed to the higher prices to 2003
