Another point for the Politicians to consider with this proposed new tax is that for every job lost in the mining sector the cost to the tax payer is probably about $70,000. I base this figure on the $50,000 tax the employee would have paid and $20,000 Dole payments they will receive instead. Not to mention the flow on effect...
I would expect everybody will eventually wake up and commonsense will prevail...
