Nope. The actual float for Alk is rather small. Almost all big players (now including Fidelity) are sitting on their shares for the long term. By that I mean that e.g. Director Gandel (25%) and other old-timers have owned this stock for decades. And Fidelity is looking at the 70 years timeline of the resource. What had driven us down, among other things, were some investment funds who lost patience due to delays (and their investors wanting their money back). They are out now. Any serious buying can move Alk up very fast, and a full takeover simply can't happen since Gandel won't concede full control of "his baby", esp now that it is ready to finally grow (if you offer him 5-10 $ / share, he might reconsider - he did hold on when we were trading at 2,70 [me too, on a way smaller scale, which goes to show I suck at selling]).
Also, for what reasons ever, Shin Etsu does not seem to be interested in getting too involved on the mining level. Buying 10% and sending a director on the board of Alk? Sure. Running the show re: a non-core business in a foreign country ? Nah.
