I don't know how you can say that as Korea was one nation once. Vietnam was one nation once too and is again now.
It was Western powers that split these countries into North and South waring factions.
Perhaps Korea will be one nation again eventually.
The UN was and remains a puppet of the US so anything they decide is biased.
In 1950 there was an attempt to unite the country by the then communist forces but the US and it's puppets entered into what should have been a civil war for the political reason of opposing communism. They sort of won and tried the same trick in Vietnam but were sent home with their tails between their legs.
