For some time I have been musing over these near 50% falls that the DOW suffers about every 34 years. Volts chart holds the answer I believe. This is the point where the market switches from premium mode to discount mode...it's the point where the market no longer believes in future growth prospects and perhaps even that negative growth lies ahead.

jlkdesilva, I was just considering on a worst case scenario. IF the PEs don't turn up and IF we reach discount mode then 1995 levels are possible.

Nothing to get worried about but certainly something to be wary of.......
