The next raid on our superannuation savings is likely to come from the next ALP government. Sooner or later they will be elected and have already flagged their intention to tax all earnings of over $75,000 in super funds at 15%. There will be no difference between accumulation and pension accounts.
There is no proposal for carry forward of under performance. Those of us in SMSFs will be legged over in favour of union controlled funds. So if one year the earnings are 2% and the next they are 28% there will be no averaging. small funds are more volatile than big funds.
I suppose after the ALP raid the libs will gain power again and raid us with another round of "fairness".
Only a fool would contribute more than the minimum to the Superannuation milch cow.
